Ah, spring! Allergies, rain, flowers, allergies, Spring Break, and, did I mention, allergies! Our students have been on Spring Break this past week. They will return with just six weeks left in the current cycle. Please pray for them to return safely, to finish the cycle well, and to avoid too many allergy flare-ups.

Weekly Portraits of Calvary Life
A Shakespeare comedy set in the 1960s? Yes, that is the show that our Theatre Department presented to large audiences last weekend!

Calvary students, alumni, faculty, and staff all worked together to bring A Midsummer Night’s Dream to life in this groovy form.

In fact, one of our adjunct Bible and Theology professors, Norm Baker, played Tom Snout/Wall.
Nick Bottom (Corey Ruehling), Frances Flute (Levi Bennett), Snug (Tori Roberts), Robin Starveling (Esther McRae), Peter Quince (Zeb Johnson), and Tom Snout (Norm Baker)
While the setting was changed, the script was still Shakespeare, and the actors did an admirable job of learning all those lines. The costumes were especially memorable and caused some actors to elicit laughter just by walking on stage.

Weekly Portraits of Calvary Life
As of this writing, we are two weeks into the 2018 Alumni Phone-a-thon. Current students have been calling alumni to share a Calvary update, get prayer requests, and give them an opportunity to support this year’s project. So far we have raised nearly $11,000 toward the sound system, multimedia screen, and projector for the new dining hall. However, our goal is $20,000, and February is more than halfway over! Do you know a Calvary graduate who deserves to be honored as the 2018 Alumnus of the Year? Please fill out the contact form here with your nomination and a paragraph describing his or her qualifications. The deadline for submissions is Friday, March 2. Please help me compile a list of worthy individuals from which the President’s Cabinet will choose an honoree. In general, we are looking for someone who is an outstanding example of faithfulness and who has maintained a strong connection with Calvary in the years since graduation. Weekly Portraits of Calvary Life
The Calvary Warriors basketball teams spent almost all of January playing road games. Now they get to play their final regular season games at home! On Tuesday, February 6, both teams play host to Central Christian College of the Bible. Then the final home games of the season will be on February 9 versus Barclay College.

The Lady Warriors will try to defeat CCCB after losing a close game to the Saints back in December. They will look for a similar result against Barclay after leaving Haviland with a win on January 26.

The men’s team lost a close game to Manhattan Christian on Tuesday and will look to get back in the win column after having the weekend off from game action. Injuries have plagued the Warriors this season as two players tore anterior cruciate ligaments.
